AshNote for Microsoft Teams
The only one-time-secret app for Teams, with a fully zero-knowledge compose flow: secrets are encrypted inside the dialog in your client and never transit Microsoft or our servers in plaintext. Part of the Team plan.
Install (IT admin, ~10 minutes)
01
Get the app package
Download the app package (zip) from your AshNote account page or request it at trust@ashnote.io. A Teams Store listing is on our roadmap; until then the package installs as a custom app, no Microsoft review required.
02
Upload org-wide
Teams admin center → Teams apps → Manage apps → Upload new app. The app then appears for your whole organization under “Built for your org”. Requires the org's custom-app policy to be enabled (Setup policies).
03
Use it
In any chat: + (Actions) → AshNote → “Share a secret”. Type the secret in the dialog, choose expiry and reads. AshNote inserts a card with aReveal secret button.
Why this is the strongest chat integration
- True zero-knowledge: the compose dialog is our web page running in your Teams client. Encryption happens there (AES-256-GCM in the browser); only the finished link is handed to Teams. The plaintext never reaches Microsoft's pipeline or our servers.
- Minimal permissions: a message extension: no chat reading, no mailbox access, no Graph permissions.
- Preview-proof: pasted ashnote.io links unfurl into an informative card without ever consuming a read.
- Audit trail: drops created by signed-in team members appear in your organization's audit log (metadata only).
Compliance checklist for your review
Everything your security team will ask is in the Trust Center: DPA/AVV, technical and organizational measures, subprocessor list, EU hosting. The client-side cryptography is open source and independently auditable.
