AshNote for Slack
Replace pasted passwords in your channels with encrypted one-time links, set up in about five minutes by any workspace admin. Part of the Team plan.

Add to Slack
Click the install link from your AshNote account page (or ask us at trust@ashnote.io). Slack shows the permission screen. AshNote requests only the commands scope.

Approve
Workspaces with app approval: an admin confirms the request underManage apps → Requested apps. No further configuration needed.

Use it
In any channel: /ashnote <secret>. The channel sees only a card with aReveal secret button, never the secret itself.
What your team sees
“🔒 @jane shared an encrypted secret via AshNote · burns after 1 read, expires in 24 h.” The first person to click Reveal gets the secret; afterwards the link is permanently destroyed. /ashnote without text shows help, visible only to you.
What the app can and cannot do
- Cannot read your channels. The only scope is
commands: AshNote receives exactly what you type after/ashnote, nothing else. - Honest security note: Slack delivers the command text to our server once; it is encrypted immediately (with the same crypto as the browser app) and never stored or logged. For strict zero-knowledge, create drops at ashnote.io and paste the link, or use our Microsoft Teams app, where full zero-knowledge is possible.
- Audit trail: drops created via Slack by signed-in team members appear in your organization's audit log (metadata only).
- Link previews cannot burn drops: revealing always requires an explicit click.
